Terry Sanford
President & CEO
Terry began preparing for a career in real estate while studying business management at Babson College. Following graduation, he helped his family launch Sanford Real Estate, a boutique residential brokerage in Nantucket, Mass., that was later acquired by Great Point Properties. He then moved on to New York's Prudential Douglas Elliman, one of the nation's largest residential real-estate brokerages.
Terry co-founded Territory in 2005 and now oversees our day-to-day operations. Besides managing our Territory Guides, he designs our property evaluation templates, offer contracts and other documentation. As our principal broker, he has completed over 250 real estate transactions with total value exceeding $200 million.
A native of Nantucket, Terry spent the first months of his life living on a converted tugboat in the harbor.
Marla Mullen
Chief Marketing Officer
Marla co-founded Territory in 2005 and has since completed nearly 150 real estate transactions with a total value of $100 million (making her the No. 1 exclusive buyer agent in Massachusetts over that period).
Marla's background in marketing and negotiating has been crucial to the success of Territory's brand and buyer-brokerage service. As head of marketing, she oversees new client development along with all marketing, advertising and branding initiatives.
Prior to Territory, Marla spent six years in sports marketing and representation at global powerhouse Octagon and later started sports marketing firm M3 Management. She earned a psychology degree from Rollins College, where she played varsity soccer.
Nick Maloney
Chief Technology Officer
Nick purchased his first home through Territory and was so impressed that he inquired about working here. We were thrilled to have him join our team, and he now heads up the IT side of Territory.com.
Always interested in learning new technologies, Nick built his first website way back in 1997. Since 2000 he has been active developing and managing software projects in real estate, finance, higher education and health care. He holds a BS in computer information systems from Bentley University.
Nick sometimes worked as a commercial shellfisherman while growing up in Chatham, Mass., and developed the ability to identify where in New England a clam came from simply by sight and taste. (He reports that Chatham "steamers" are by far the tastiest.)
Star Performers
Compared with all other exclusive buyer agents in Massachusetts, the Territory team ranks No. 1 by both transaction and dollar volume.
